Blurb

So I've finally nailed the blurb for Diamond Dirt! In honor of the official start to softball season, I decided to share it with everyone. Enjoy!
Drop, rise, curve, screw, fast; Shelby has pitched them all in her quest to achieve her dream of playing softball in Oklahoma City. After three years of postseason dreams being dashed, she and her team have a chance to make it all the way. With her laser focus, she has led the Lady Hawks from the circle. There's just one thing between her and the red dirt of ASA Hall of Fame Stadium, her entry level British History class.
Kings, queens, leaders, extraordinary, common; Winston knows British History inside and out. What he doesn't know is the university has one of the top softball teams in the nation chasing their first national title. Weeks before graduation, he's faced with tutoring the Lady Hawks' ace in the pitching circle. He's challenged to find time in both of their busy schedules to help her learn the royalty as well as she knows the seams on a softball.
When questioned, she shows him her passion for the game which leads him to bring the royals into her comfort zone between the chalk lines. Will it be enough to help her pass the class? Or will her dream be another casualty of the royalty?

Cover Chosen

I finally chose my cover image for Diamond Dirt!!! I was beginning to wonder if I would ever find the perfect picture. To celebrate here is a small scene from Diamond Dirt.
"I thought you were at the park with Tina," her mother said.
"I was, but today is opening day," Shelby said as she finally looked at her mother. "I didn't want to miss the first pitch."
"I thought college softball finished last week."
"Momma, that was Super Regionals. This is the World Series. The top eight teams from across the country compete for the national title," Shelby explained as the last notes of the National Anthem rang out.
"You know if you put this much effort in history, you would've had an A," her mother said.
"I don't like history," Shelby said. "I love softball."

First Novella

"Cap, we're entering the Isle of Siren," Bartholomew said.
"Siren Shores tis but a myth," Boosa yelled. "Ye, yella be showing."
"It's no myth," Killian said as he shoved Boosa to the side. "I hear tell of the lasses beauty."
"No lass there mate," Kidd yelled. "They be demons."
"Demons?" Bartholomew asked.
"Mermaids, boy," Fen said. "Be ye wary, mermaids mean a trip to Davy Jones' Locker."
"Aye, mermaids be the death of many men," Stede said. "Cap, the ship is flagging us."
"Good, let's give them a hand," Destan said as he smiled.
"Aye, aye," the men cheered.
He looked at the setting sun and smiled. This would be a fine night for pillaging.

Small Moments

I've always loved the small moments between characters where nothing big happens, but really shows their growing relationship. Shelby and Winston are drawing closer.
"So, you really were named after Winston Churchill? Shelby asked as she looked up from his computer.
"Yeah, our parents are weird," Mia said as she sat on the bed next to Shelby.
"Our grandmother loved Winston Churchill and begged our parents to name their first born after him. Thankfully, I'm male," he said as he flipped through Shelby's paper. He wanted to read over it one more time before he gave it back to her.
"Our grandmother is a special woman. She was in the Navy," Mia said. "She would like you."
"Mia," he said looking at his sister.
"What? Grandma would like Shelby. She'd say..."
"Whoa, don't even repeat what she would say," he said holding his hand up to Mia. "You don't have enough money for the swear jar to repeat what grandma says."
"Navy?" Shelby asked as she looked at Mia.
"Yeah, pretty cool, right?" Mia asked.
"Very cool," Shelby said. "My grandpa was in the Army and I was never to repeat anything he said. Colorful doesn't begin to describe his words choices."

Book 10

Here is a small snippet of Book 10 that I'm working on. Syrena and Caspian's story is coming together pretty quick. #book10 #syrenaandcaspian #movieset
"Now, tell me who was cast to play Destan. I picture the character with blonde hair and green eyes, smaller build due to swinging on the ropes."
"Girl, you know they're not casting a skinny dude. This is supposed to be an action blockbuster."
"I read the book."
"So? Skinny action dude doesn't sell unless he's beefed up in the movie like Captain America," he said. "You know they don't always stick to the book."
"Ugh!" She shook her head as she watched the other girls dive into the water. She was next.
"You better get in the water. You don't need to be fired on your first day," he said.
She nodded as she slipped into the water.
"So, who did they pick?"
"Caspian Wells."

Working on Edits

Working on edits while I watch Christmas movies! Also I have relocated for my job which put me away from the computer for a bit. I'm back now and working on Diamond Dirt along with 2 other books. Be on the lookout for at least one book in 2020. My goal is 2 full length books and the novella I've been plotting.
I hope everyone has a great holiday season with your family and friends.
