Here is one of the opening scenes of Cursed Soldier. You get to see Alexandra at work in her element. Each book requires research on the subject. Since I'd never been to Gettysburg before writing this book, I had to study the tour route to know exactly where Alex would tell her tour group this. Once I got to visit the battlefield, I got to replay this scene in my mind. It's not often you can visit a place that you write about.

This part of the battle is called Pickett's Charge, for Major General George Pickett. Alex stated, as the tourists laughed, the bus stopped to let them off to check out the precise spot. Alex stepped out and looked over the land laid out before her.
